Dear friends,

After 13 beautiful years, I’ve come to the bittersweet conclusion that it is time for a shift.

Our lovely brick + mortar in Essex is closing, and Mayflour will be entering a period of rest and reflection. I will be spending time prioritizing my health, and putting my energy and heart towards my family, and my people.

The future of small business, of small farms, of makers and creators, feels so very fragile. For me, the pursuit has become unsustainable. It feels essential to make space to reimagine what Mayflour looks like, and how it shows up in the world during such an uncertain time. I urge you to rally around others in this beloved community, if you are able, and see them through.

In 2017, I expanded Mayflour to include a brick and mortar, and opened the doors of our tiny, light filled space in Rockport. I could not have imagined the incredible community that would grow around it. The relationships that have been built, the creativity that’s been cultivated, my delightful and dedicated staff, the celebrations we’ve been part of, the gift of being woven into the fabric of peoples’ days and weeks, has been nothing short of magical. I am deeply grateful to each of you who has joined me on this adventure of community, cake, and love.

with gratitude and a full heart, jocelyn
